Training — Technical and Professional Development. People are the most important
aspect of the project.  Our training efforts include creating programs to develop
talents in project management and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. As
well as supporting sales strategies, and post-sales systems utilization.

IT Product Training — “produced customer, peer, and reseller channel training
strategies for UNIX architecture, network, storage and operating systems
optimization”
Handled vendor presence at the NASA Goddard IEEE Mass Storage
Symposium.  Recommended custom training to support RFP responses, and
assist operational staff with usage from desktop to datacenter class systems.

Administered lunch and learns, road shows, and train the trainer sessions to
ensure field readiness for sales and usage of next generation products.

NASA Office of Higher Education — “piloted an internship program in
collaboration with Maryland Space Business Roundtable (MSBR) and Maryland
Space Grant Consortium (MSGC)”
Matched students with Principle Investigators (PI)s at MSBR member
companies.  Supported corporate representatives with pre-program planning.

Interfaced between the Office of Higher Education and MSGC for logistics,
stipend, travel, and lodging concerns.  Designed and implemented a Goddard
orientation for participants of the NASA Summer Aerospace Workforce
Development Research Internship Program, as well as interns at JHU APL and
NASA IV and V.  Served as Program Support to NASA Academy and Liaison
to the International Space University.

NASA STEM Outreach — "facilitated a tailor-made tour of NASA GSFC in
collaboration with Goddard’s Office of NASA Education for the oldest high school
aerospace after-school program filling in a programmatic gap"
Interfaced within the Agency to the Shuttle Program Office, Administrator’s
Office, Astronaut Appearance Office, Public Affairs, the Goddard Visitor
Center and Security Foreign National Office to support NASA Science
Technology Engineering and Mathematics initiatives by filling a 2-hour gap on
the schedule.

Developed and managed communications plan to secure Leland Melvin, an
active astronaut's participation and the corporate sponsorship of Stinger
Ghaffarian Technologies to provide lunch for approximately 50 students.
Arranged for Dr. Harold Stinger as a key note lunch speaker and spoke on
personal experiences in coming though and being a product of NASA's STEM
pipeline.

Organizational Development —”appreciative inquiry support to the AldonMalone
Group for major Chicago-land institutions of higher education”
Created collaborative pre-work exercises used in senior leadership retreat.

Partnered on idea generation for professional development activities to benefit
mid-career minority women and their mentors.

Project Management Training for NASA Engineers — "collaborated Agency-
wide to design, and taught, a custom-made project management training for NASA
Goddard’s technical workforce"
Produced content and hand-outs by analyzing and documenting requirements
for the niche’ audience.  Garnered participation from GSFC's Directorates
including Safety and Mission Assurance, Flight Projects, Science and
Exploration, Advanced Engineering Technology Directorate, Office of the Chief
Knowledge Officer, and as well as the NASA Academy of Program/Projects &
Engineering Leadership, and the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter project
manager.

Course attendants represented a diverse range of the Center's technical
population from graduate students, and journeyman staff to branch managers
and corporate vice presidents.  Taught the IT and Infrastructure and Space
Flight Program and Project Management requirements of the NASA
Procedural Requirements (NPR) 7120.7 and 7120.5.

Risk Management and EVM Workshop — “established a 6-week semester of
qualitative and quantitative risk management courses”
Implemented risk semester based on NASA missions datasets and Boolean
logic of failure modes effects analysis, Probabilistic Risk Assessment, and
tools.

Rolled out training, largest in-house initiative, involving engineering division
across geographies.  Taught a workshop on earned value and project
management.

“Kim is a great facilitator and very people oriented.”
